screen problems during RH9 installation

Hi All,

I'm having a problem installing RH9.
Early on during installation from burned CDROM, usually around partitioning 
or a bit later, the screen begins to be covered with vertical lines, the 
text looks weird etc. Every mouse movement or keyboard click makes it worse, 
and soon it is not possible to go on.

First I thought that the reason was the MS wireless optical keyboard and 
mouse, but the same thing happens with a regular keyboard and mouse.
I tried with RH7.1 installation, there no such problem seems to be present, 
though I did not go the whole way.

I have Athlon XP1800 machine with Chaintech 7VJL motherboard, 512 MB memory,
Chaintech GeForce 4 MX graphic board, 120 GB hd.
I have W2K on it, and want to build a dual boot configuration... but first I 
must get through this weird screen problem.
