I've got a couple of old 2-meter HAM rigs you can have. Even a couple
of old CBs. :-)
I think the primary value in that cable at this time is...the value of
scrap copper.
I miss the 10Base2 days. It sure was a lot of fun to change the BNC connector out and make the new one bad. You know.. just to mess with the co-workers from time to time. he he he
How about the subtle method of stabbing a straight pin through the coax
so it'd short it out? It was called "pinning", and I had to do it to a
neighbor who ran a 10kW (yes, 10 kilowatt) HAM transmitter (very
illegal) and would interfere with EVERYTHING including wired telephones.
I pinned his coax about three a.m. one day. That afternoon, he keyed up
and blew his transmitter up (with a VERY loud BANG!). He also got an
anonymous note saying "We asked you to stop, *ssh*le. Next time, it'll
be worse." He rebuilt his transmitter, hooked it up to the same cable,
BANG! He started to build it again. I pulled the pin out and had
the FCC in for coffee. He keyed up, they saw it, and they tried and
sentenced him to two years probation and a $40,000 fine. He never
tried it again.
