Cannot mout proc

I was running fine.  Made some changes and rebooted.  Got message that it
couldn¹t mount /proc  type commannd mount proc proc /proc.... And then said
I have a bad fstab.
Will not let me go into single user mode.

When I tryied to type any thing I cout a long message with the term oh F**K
(real spelling supplied by developer)

This system is remote, so I will not be able to run rescue for a couple of
days.

Is this a BAD message.  Is my file system screwed up?  I can get more
details on the message next week if needed.  I was getting punchy 3 am today
and didn't write down all the details
