I have successfully installed RH 8 on a 2600+ AMD computer at home. Now I have acquired an old laptop with no CDROM support... (I'm surprised that it even runs!)
It is an IBM 486sx Thinkpad, 8 MB RAM and 117 MB HD, running Win 3.1 on MSDOS 5.02 (ouch!). It has no CDROM drive, but it has a 3 1/2" floppy and serial/parallel cable ports.
I'm still new at *nix commands so want to use it for learning. I don't know anything at all about installing, so would like to know if it's possible to set this machine up as a test station. I believe that I can use the serial/parallel cable ports to install from the ISOs on my AMD machine but don't know how to do it. Will it involve a bootdisk and a couple cables? Of course, I can answer any questions you have, since this may be as clear as mud :-)
