Re: Re: Dual Booting Red Hat Linux 9



I remember working with a partitioning utility a few years ago where I had to specify the starting and ending cylinder of the partition. Apparently, the parted utility shipped with Red Hat Linux accepts starting and ending sizes in megabytes in all required instances. Should I be working with a utility that talks to the BIOS specifying cylinders? If I do have to, can such a utility preserve the data on my 80 GB Windows XP NTFS and resize the current 80 GB partition at the same time?

You can use 'Boot Magic', but you don't necessary have to.
The boatloaders 'GRUB' and 'LILO', which both come with RH9, will do nicely.
I prefer GRUB, since it's editable when a boot fails.
