Install grub in the mbr and reinstall WXP. WXP installs its loader in the first record of the first disk. If you install grub there, it is erased.

Hello,

I finally got XP and linux halfway installed on the my
box with my promise raid controller. I first installed
xp, then I installed red hat 9.0 . when I chose the
options for grub, I took the advice of the install for
win 2000 and chose not to install in the mbr but the
other option. now when I try to boot off the drive i
get an error from the xp bootloader, specifically that
the hal.dll file is missing from the windows root
directory. I could try to copy this file over in the
windows xp recovery consule but will this fix my
problem. currently I have to use a boot disk to run
redhat and I cannot run XP at all. anybody?
