So, you've all told me how to install it on a new computer. I partition
XP, and leave the rest unpartitioned.
One more Q.
I have a computer that has Xp pro already installed and sees the entire
HDD as NTFS.
Can I install RH9 on it without reformating / losing the data?
Thank you all!
In addition to the advice given by others, I'd add that if you want to share
data between XP and Linux then create a FAT32 partition for that purpose. XP
won't understand any of the Linux filesystems without additional commercial
software. You can add read support for NTFS to RH but write support is *not*
advisable. Both understand FAT32 for read and write. It's not ideal for
various reasons, but it's the best option available.
