I would format it as another ext2/3 filesystem, then share it using
Samba. Read The Fine Manual, chapter 17, for more details:

On my Linux workstation, I share out, with Samba, my wife's home
directory which is the F: drive to her XP machine. She keeps all her
bookkeeping data on there, and I back up /home regularly with a cron
job.
