Do I understand that this 10GB disk is on the Linux box? If so, you
can use fdisk to make it a linux partition, and mke2fs to make it into
an ext2 or ext3 filesystem.
If the drive is on a (strictly) Windoze box, then I'm unclear what you
want to do with it.

If the drive is on the Linux box, yes, you want Samba to share it.
