No problems.. But they wrote some of their drivers/software

(OVER THE EDGE annoying.)

So.. How do I downgrade to 2.4.18-24. I have the kernel,

using rpm -Uvh I believe.

rpm -ivh --force kernel-version-you-want.rpm

and edit your boot config.

Did that a few minutes ago:

[root w2k-asl-04 kernel]# rpm -ivh --force kernel-smp-2.4.18-24.8.0.i686.rpm
warning: kernel-smp-2.4.18-24.8.0.i686.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID db42a60e

grubby fatal error: unable to find a suitable template

So.. What is the grubby error all about? :confused:

That's a "postinstall" template thing. "grubby" is in /sbin and is used by RPM to bugger the boot config file (grub, lilo or elilo, see "man grubby"). Since you installed an older RPM, it's having a problem. This means you'll need to manually edit your boot config file.

However, if you check /boot, I think you'll find the "new old" (or
should that be "old new"?) kernel is there now.
