Boot up with an emergency disk, you can use a redhat install
disk if you don have one handy and just stop before the
installation begins. Then go to Ctrl-Alt-F2 prompt to check
out the disk(s). First try,

fdisk /dev/hda

to verify that you can read the partition table. Then try
running,

e2fsck /dev/hda(x)

on whichever patitions you have installed. If it can't find
init then it's probably your / partition that requires fixing,
although it would be prudent to fix all of them before
rebooting.
