Finding my modem in RH 9

Thanks for your help on my previous question and any help you can give me on
this question.

I did the Internet Configuration Wizard and did all the steps necessary
according to the Getting Started Guide. Unfortunately the Wizard says that I
don't have a modem and sets up a generic modem which doesn't work. How do I
find my actual modem and use it?
