stuck in "choose a language"

I downloaded a boot diskette image and wrote it to a
3.5 diskette. When my computer boots from the boot
diskette, it gets dead when the "choose a language"
window appears. Does any one can give some advice?

The computer is Dell Dimension 8250 with NTFS windowXP
installed.
