RH ATA100

My PC is a  AMD 700 ,  ASUS A7V ,  two HARDISKs :  Quantum ATA66 20GB and Maxtor ATA100  80GB
The Hardisks  are on ATA100 controller .
When I try to install for the first time RH 8.0 I cannot work because the installation can't see the HDs.
When I try to install for the first time RH 9.0 I  can see the HD configuration but when I try to modified the HDs layout, the PC hangs 
If  I configure all HDs on controller ATA66  I work fine .
What I do for install RH with ATA100 controller
