I try to do a linux mediacheck but the same error message appears: ran out of output data: system halted

Did you run the media test at the beginning of the install?

Be sure you use good-quality CDs, always 700MB. You also may need to
slow down the burn rate to something like 2x or 4x to get reliable
disks.
