Hi gang
Admittedly don't spend very much time here ... too much mail on the influx
... but am having an annoying problem with a server at work:
It's an old IBM Netfinity 7000 ... 4x Pentium Pro 200 1 MB, 1.2 GB RAM, 6x
4.5 GB harddrives in RAID 5 on an IBM ServeRAID II 3-channel SCA controller
(which I've got the driver for) ...
I've been asked to install AS 2.1 on it, but after nearly an hour and a half
installing, spending most of it on disc 1, and very little on disc 2, the
installer suddenly asks for disc 3 ...
I don't have disk 3, only the first two. Disk 3 and 4 are only supposed to
be the source code, therefor we don't have them at all in the workshop!...
I've tried bareboning the install options, but still, after 3 tries,
chopping increasingly more of the install set each time, it still wants disc
3.
On another server, brand-new with 2 Xeons, I installed it from the same
media with a much larger install set, and it never asked for disc 3 ...
Is there something particular in the installer that causes it to ask for
disc 3, or is just a bug in the installer that happens to repeat itself???
And what can I do to get around it ???
TIA
Rene
