Formatting the hard drive....

Hi, this may be an obvious answer once I finish downloading all of 
the redhat images and burn the CD's BUT - I currently have a laptop 
with Micro$oft XP on it and I want to wipe the drive(s) and install 
redhat on the computer. When I start up from the redhat CD will there 
be an initilization tool or do I need to do something first? I'm 
guessing I'll have about five hours of download time left when I get 
into the office and I'd like to prepare the computer as much as 
possible before then.
