RE: Problem with Installing RH9 using FTP

Title: RE: Problem with Installing RH9 using FTP

I've tried to use Tom's Root/Boot to boot up the system and run e2fsck to fix any problems on the partition, which was probably due to hangup during installation.

Afterwards, I retry the installation, without reformating the partitions except swap space. The installation still failed as before.

In F4 console at the time of failure, there is no more e2fsck message but I've seen the following message on the top of the screen (i.e. these messages happens quite some time before the failure)

(4)FAT: bogus logical sector size 0
(4)VFS: Can't find a valid FAT filesystem on dev 02:00

Is there any means to get more detailed log messages so that the root cause of the installation failure can be identified?

Before you go any further, I recommend you download Tom's Root/Boot

http://www.toms.net/rb/

boot from that and run e2fsck on each of your Linux filesystems.
