Hello,
I want to thank you for helping me before... I'm still
having problems, see my post below. I tried cycling
thru the video modes with ctrl+alt+- , but it doesn't
switch modes. I am still get the monitor message:
"Picture Management: Out of Range". 640x480 works no
problem (i.e. on initial install). I just want
800x600.
I booted into init 3 and tried 'redhat-config-xfree86
-
reconfig', but that yields the same error message
Can someone give me a specific example of how to
change the video mode to 800x600 at 16 million colors
at 72 hz? Can I do that with command line parms?
Thank you, I appreciate it.

Try hitting CtrlAlt+ or CtrlAlt- to cycle through
the video modes. CtrlAltBackspace will restart X.

You can boot in run level 3.
Run 'redhat-config-xfree86 -reconfig' from
the command prompt. Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to
shutdown X. Once you've configured X the way you
like it, boot into run level 5 as normal.
