The monitor goes in power save mode ...

Hi there.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
When I try to install RedHat 9.0 with a bootable CD after a couple of 
hundred of lines (which I think are the results from checking the 
hardware in my PC) I get a blank black screen, the power save mode 
(amber colour light) on my monitor goes on and I can not see anything else.
The CD-ROM reads some more and then stops.
After I push the space and enter keys on my keyboard the CD-ROM starts 
reading very fast but I still can not see nothing on my monitor which is 
in power save mode.
I went into the BIOS and changed things in the power management page but 
with no success.
Please tell me what you think about this problem.
