Not true. The name changes, true, but the Red Hat Linux we know and

What happens to RHN, security announcements, etc? Is Fedora as stable
as the previous Red Hat releases? Would *YOU* use Fedora on a server? How about a Mid to Enterprise server? Redhat 8.0 has worked flawlessly
for us as a mid-range server OS ... I don't want to lose that, but I
need to keep up with security .. I do on my desktop too... (I'm one of
those few people who *didn't* get infected with blaster, sobig, etc when
they came out.. That is, on my Windows machine.. work requires one...)

I will be using Fedora. I will, as due dilligence requires, be evaluating all four Red Hat variants (WS, ES, AS, and Fedora), as well as the latest offerings from Caldera, SuSE and Debian. Fedora will be the more "bleeding edge" stuff which, after scrutiny, will become the new WS/ES/AS offerings (heck, AS2.1 is based on RH 7.1!).

The purchased, box-set Red Hat Linux becomes "Red Hat Enterprise

Linux"

in three flavors: "WS" (workstation, what we now use mostly), "ES"

(the

stuff we use now on steroids), and "AS" (advanced server).

Any what are the restrictions here... *Can* I install, legally, this
product on more than one server if I buy only one? If I can't, then
what has RedHat done to prevent this? Is it simply because RedHat has
compiled this for installation? Or is it because of the support? *sigh*

I haven't seen the license agreements yet as my copies of WS/ES/AS haven't arrived. I expect them "any day now" (depending on how quick I can poke the cattle prod into my purchasing department's ribs).

Can you say, "Kzzzzzzzzchhhht!"?
