Hello,
Has anyone attempted a disk install of RedHat 9.0 from disk?
I've followed the instructions posted at:
http://www.redhat.com/download/howto_download.html#makeroom
That instruct you to download the images:
shrike-i386-disc1.iso
shrike-i386-disc2.iso
shrike-i386-disc3.iso
Then create a boot image diskette using the file bootdisk.img. Everything
is fine up to this point. I can mount the ISO files to a mount point and
view their contents with no problem. I can also use the boot disk to begin
the install process. I've followed the steps outlined in section 3.6
"Installing from a Hard Drive" at
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/install-guide/s1-begin
install-hd.html
Below is the screenshot where in lines the problem. It's figure 3-3
Selecting Partition Dialog for Hard Drive Installation.
The example uses /dev/hda1 and the directory holding the images is
/test/new.
On my machine I placed the ISO files on /dev/hdb1 and the mount point is
/development with a directory /test so I select the hard drive /dev/hdb1
and
enter the directory /development/test into the Select Partition screen.
I get an error back say directory not fount and sources images not found?
Any suggestions would be most appreciated! Am I missing a step?
Thanks,
Michael
