Network Config

I recently installed RedHat 9.0 on one of the computers on my home network.  
I'm connecting to the internet through a cable modem with a router.  I set 
my network card to DHCP, but it failed to get an IP.  My router is the 
Linksys BEFSR41.  Note that when I set a static IP (the IP of the router), 
it connected, but the internet didn't work.  Keep in mind that I'm fairly 
newbie, especially in Linux.  Could anyone help me out?
