I am stumped. I have two PCs (W2k & win XP) on a Microsoft network with
the Linux (RH9) machine. I have set up Samba by the book and removed
all the firewalls in Linux. I can access the PCs with the Linux
machines, log in, etc. I can see the Linux machines on the PCs, but
cannot get logged in (username or password unknown). I have set the
Linux user and password to be the same as the PCs, but still no luck.
On here also, I can log into the Linux machine itself via the browser,
but when I do, I do not see any directories or files, just a blank
window, but at least I can log in.
Any ideas or settings I am missing? I have hosts allowed as 192.168.1.,
guests = yes.

1) Post your smb.conf
2) Have you added a samba user and password that matches the windows pc
logons?
3) What is the exact error message?
4) The above "guests = yes" is incorrect. It should be guest ok = yes
5) Take a look at my webpage for more help
http://www.samba.netfirms.com/
Regards,
Mark
