I don't understand.  Your data was on hdb1, but when you moved the
drive, it became hda1.  So your data is now on hda1.  What's the
problem?

Your data is no longer on hdb1.  And if you didn't put another drive
on as primary slave disk, you don't have an hdb<anything>.
