Edit your /etc/sysconfig/network so that your hostname is fully
qualified with the domain name. For example, here is that file for my
server:
NETWORKING=yes
HOSTNAME=yak.bobcatos.com
GATEWAY=192.168.2.1
GATEWAYDEV=eth0
FORWARD_IPV4=yes
You should also change /etc/hosts to reflect it. Again, from my
server:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.2.4 yak.bobcatos.com yak
You also may need to change /etc/resolv.conf if it specifies a
domain.
This is one of the few times I recommend a reboot because a lot of
cats and dogs hang on that hostname and the domain name that is
derived from it.
(I trust Rick to correct me if I'm wrong. Sometimes I am. No,
really! :-)
