Re: RH9 - trying to install Gnome 2.4.0



I guess waiting will be my only option - however it seems odd that this was such a simple procedure back with RH7.3 - yet with both 8 and 9 you need a masters degree in rocket science/brain surgery/and a lifetime of linuc puter geekiness in order to upgrade Gnome ...

Oh well, time to set it up as the testing web server again.

Yes, only 2.2.x.  But as you have determined, rolling your own is a
daunting task.

A recent posting listed the coming changes in what would have been RH
10, and don't recall if GNOME 2.4 was listed.  If so, I'd wait until
it comes out, which is supposed to be Real Soon Now.
