Dear Hui,
Hope this may work. While choosing the partitioning instead of going for
the automatic partition just select for the partition based on the F disk
option. Since your disk is of 20 GB you can partition root based on
your use, usr 5 GB(for complete installation), swap double the RAM, boot
100 mb, home rest of your disk space.
Hope this options can help you in formatting the harddisk.
