Forget swat until you get samba running correctly. Once you've got all the
kinks out of the system you can use swat to manage it but there are too
may things that don't show up by default in swat to make it a useful
set-up tool.
If you can provide a *detailed* description of your setup I'll reply with
some tips and a sample smb.conf.
