Install hangs

When I get to the first page after booting with cd 1, I press enter to 
start the graphic installation. Then I get to a screen where it says that I 
can check my cd, or I can skip the check. The problem is that it says that 
I must use space to select and tab to switch between the options, but the 
keyboard seem to freeze. I plan to run both red hat and WinXP, and have 
already installed xp on a seperate partition.
