It is a problem with codification. If the message does not have codification as a separate field in its headers then Evolution tries to show the message as UTF-8. But most messages come from windows machines and its codification is windows-1252.
You have to configure tool to send messages as iso-8859-15 or windows-1252.

Hello, 

I have installed RedHat Linux 9.0.
I choosed Spanish language and spanish keyboard.

All works fine but when I send an e-mail with Evolution or I send a message with GAIM, text received does not include spanish chars (á, é, í..., ¿, ¡...) but strange chars apears.

I have checked language and keyboard settings but It appears OK.

Can anyone help me?
