Out of the blue, /dev/cdrom has disappeared, miraculously, /dev/cdwriter
has appeared but doesn't appear to be of much use. I seem to remember
cdrom being linked to /dev/hdc but this tells me nothing when I fdisk
it. I also have a message in my log file that I don't recall being there
before:-
Sep 29 14:18:31 localhost kernel: Attached scsi CD-ROM sr0 at scsi1,
channel 0, id 0, lun 0
Sep 29 14:18:31 localhost kernel: sr0: scsi3-mmc drive: 24x/24x writer
cd/rw xa/form2 cdda tray
Sep 29 14:18:31 localhost kernel: Uniform CD-ROM driver Revision: 3.12
any help appreciated.
K.
