Have you been tinkering with ide-scsi? You seem to have lost an IDE drive and gained a SCSI unit. Enabling ide-scsi (adding 'append "hdc=ide-scsi"' to your /etc/lilo.conf (or grub or whatever) file would cause this. -Tim > Out of the blue, /dev/cdrom has disappeared, miraculously, /dev/cdwriter > has appeared but doesn't appear to be of much use. I seem to remember > cdrom being linked to /dev/hdc but this tells me nothing when I fdisk > it. I also have a message in my log file that I don't recall being there > before:- > > > Sep 29 14:18:31 localhost kernel: Attached scsi CD-ROM sr0 at scsi1, > channel 0, id 0, lun 0 > Sep 29 14:18:31 localhost kernel: sr0: scsi3-mmc drive: 24x/24x writer > cd/rw xa/form2 cdda tray > Sep 29 14:18:31 localhost kernel: Uniform CD-ROM driver Revision: 3.12 > > any help appreciated. > > > K. > > > > _______________________________________________ > Redhat-install-list mailing list > Redhat-install-list redhat com > https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-install-list > To Unsubscribe Go To ABOVE URL or send a message to: > redhat-install-list-request redhat com > Subject: unsubscribe _______________________________________________ Redhat-install-list mailing list Redhat-install-list redhat com https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-install-list To Unsubscribe Go To ABOVE URL or send a message to: redhat-install-list-request redhat com Subject: unsubscribe
