Uh, what?  You're contradicting yourself there.  Which of the following
work?

	HostA --> telnet --> HostB
	HostB --> telnet --> Host A

Also remember that, by default, telnet is disabled on Red Hat.  You must
enable it by use of redhat-config-services or ntsysv or by manually
tweaking the xinetd.d files and sending xinetd a SIGHUP.  For X to work,
the portmapper must be running on the X server machine and you must not
block the ports used via iptables (yet another security risk over and
above using telnet).

We HIGHLY recommend that you NEVER, EVER use telnet.  It is an
incredibly insecure protocol and one of the easiest to hack and break
into a system.  You should use ssh and use X forwarding under it.  You
only need to have the ssh port (port 22) open on your firewall to use
it that way.  All X data is therefore encrypted and passed through the
ssh tunnel.  FAR more secure.
