I think that the easiest way to remove Linux partitions is to use
fdisk from Linux. You can boot Linux from rescue disk or installation
disks in rescue mode, then run fdisk fron the command line and delete
any partitions including Linux ones. Fdisk from Windows could not delete
partiton types of which are not known to Windows (it include Linux
partitions).
Linux fdisk does not check the partitoon types or contents and, could
delete or
modify any partition.

3. So I have delete logical drive first, but I got the message: no

How to do that?

I have installed Linux after window 98 installed via partition of
disk.
Now Linux can not start. I want to remove the Linux and reformat
the
free space for windows (i.e., recover to original window
environment)

What I did already:
1. In DOS, with FDISK I can not delete the parttition that Linux

hold.

Oh? I don't know why it shouldn't. What error message did you
receive?

2. With Partition Magic, any disk space that Linux uses can not be
free
(i.e. I can not delete any thing).

Again, I don't know why it shouldn't. What error message did you
receive?

My question is:
1. How can I free the space that Linux is using? or

The above should have worked.

2. How can I reformat the whole disk drive and reinstal Windows
XP?.

If you can't do the above, then you can't do it. Send the disk to
me. I can use it. :-P

Thanks

Dave

Let's get back to the initial problem - starting Linux. Do you want
to do that? If so, send us more details like what fdisk sees of the
partition table.

If you don't, then send us more details, like at least, the error
messages and some description of the experience. "It doesn't work"
won't get you any help.

Cheers,
