[root LinuxBox root]#

I am a newby and prefer the KDE graphics to do it

but can'y quite get a

hold of it.

In the meantime does the message above mean it has

been deleted or not.

If not how do I get this deleted?

Thanks

Umm, why don't you upgrade instead of

uninstall/install? Just

rpm -Fvh httpd-2*.rpm

"man rpm" for more information.

Cheers,

Thanks..

I was advised to do the delete and install by
someone else but this is sure quicker!

I have am into the manual but like all manuals and
newbys, they don't always understand each other at first! :)

In the meantime, I got this after the update..

[root LinuxBox src]# rpm -Fvh httpd-2*.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
libcrypto.so.4 is needed by httpd-2.0.40-21
libssl.so.4 is needed by httpd-2.0.40-21
[root LinuxBox src]# locate libcrypto.so.4
[root LinuxBox src]# locate libssl.so.4
[root LinuxBox src]#

I have tried to find the files but they don't seem
to be found..

Thanks again

If you have got installed the apt-get package, try: apt-get --fix-broken This command will fix all your packages dependences on your system

Thank you very much. am struggling along trying to find ny way in boks and online help but it is hard when one has soecific problems that none of the hekp seems to refer to.

I did go to the website and as I have rh8 got the answer..

/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.6b is in openssl-0.9.6b-33.i386.rpm
/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.6b is in openssl-0.9.6b-33.i686.rpm
/usr/lib/libcrypto.so is in openssl-devel-0.9.6b-33.i386.rpm
/usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.5a is in openssl095a-0.9.5a-21.i386.rpm
/usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.6 is in openssl096-0.9.6-16.8.i386.rpm

Also did the uname -m and got i686.

I the did rpm -Uvh httpd-2*.rpm openssl-0.9.6b-*.i686.rpm

This just blanked then back to,,
[root LinuxBox root]#

I tried to locate the licrypto.so file and got this..

/root LinuxBox root]# locate libcrypto.so
/lib/libcrypto.so.2
/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.6b

I then went to the new package httpd-2.0.40.21 in KDE and right clicked to Install and got this..

Following files not on the system..

libcrypto.so.4
libssl.so.4

I went to my RH8 CD #1 and there is a openssl *6b-29 there so not sure what to do as it is not the 6b-33 it asks for.

I'd appreciate just a liitle more help plaese guys.. I'll get this thing going yet!

Rock

BTW. Went and got that Apt-Get file for RH8 and I gues it is no good for me this time if the files I need aren't on the machine.. Thanks Manuel
