This seem amazingly naive. Certain message arrive and I have rules
installed to forward them. They could have attachments and I never read
them.

Is the world really as hands on, email by email, as you suggest? I'm so
automated these days that stuff is flying in and out in net time. I
receive between 500 & 1000 emails a day, addressed to me from mailing
lists and other places. I have rules in place to copy things of interest
(certain words or people) to special locations, and to forward to a few
folks. No way am I going to do this by hand.

Or maybe we just handle this stuff very differently. That's cool too.

Again, and I don't mean to be too condescending, but that is the name of
this weeks attachment. Think more globally. What about a zip file that
has a virus infected file in it?

I feel that it's not about what you can see with your eyes. As I stated
when I first asked the question, it's about being a good citizen and
doing the most you can, or at least what's reasonable. I will not be a
Linux user who says everyone using a Windows box or Outlook is stupid
and deserves no help. I will protect myself by using Linux, and I will
attempt to protect others within my abilities and means. I will not
knowingly, or even unknowingly if possible, send a virus to anyone. It's
just part of my way of living...

Yes, that is frustrating, but then again, not as frustrating as sending
someone a virus. (At least for me...)

Cheers,
Mark
