RE: Network Config Problems

did you try "ifdown eth0" first?
what was "ifconfig -a" after that?
what was the routing table after that "netstat -rn"?

When you bring up the network interface try using a MTU of 1300, I have seen
where there is an issue with certain firewalls.
also try doing a traceroute:

"traceroute www.yahoo.com"

This should tell you where you are getting hung.

Sorry that should have been 'That seems NOT to work'!

That seem to work, I tried pinging again, and it seems to detect the ip of
the destination.. i.e. if I ping ns1.iapbb.net

ping ns0.iapbb.net
PING ns0.iapbb.net (216.127.80.104) 56(84) bytes of data.

216.127.80.104 being the ip of the nameserver.. so its somehow getting out
to the www?

>>Try to configure all again:

ifconfig eth0 195.224.13.86 broadcast 195.224.13.255
netmask 255.255.255.0 up

and then, restart your eth0:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart
