Hi!
I used to have exactly the opposite problem: DHCP server kept
over-writing my local DNS server settings. Either Bob McClure or Rick
Stevens helped me out. I think the problem was in
/etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-eth0, and was called PEERDNS. I
set it to "no" and my problem went away. Perhaps you need to set it to
"yes"?
