installing developer package in linux 8.0 (the one containing gcc, etc.)

You can install the apt package and then upgrade your
system with the latest packages aviable on the
reposistories, which you need to put in
/etc/apt/sources.list

Here you are ones for RH 8.0
rpm http://ayo.freshrpms.net redhat/8.0/i386 os
updates freshrpms
rpm-src http://ayo.freshrpms.net redhat/8.0/i386 os
updates freshrpms
