If you can, try rebooting your system and get into the BIOS setup.  See
if it has "Legacy USB" enabled.  If so, try disabling it and trying the
install again.

Some BIOSes have problems with Linux and legacy USB handling on HID
(human interface devices) such as keyboards and mice.

I won't guarantee success, but it's worth a shot.
