when I take a look for
/etc/lilo.conf {can't be found, however }
/etc/grub.conf 1.2 K link to unknown type yesterday at 4:22:56: PM
and it says
[user localhost etc]$ ls -al grub.conf
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Aug 12 17:31 grub.c! onf ->
../boot/grub/grub.conf
and
/grub/grub.conf 1.2 K link to unknown type yesterday at 4:22:56: PM
and vim says
# grub.conf generated by anaconda
#
# Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this
file
# NOTICE: You have a /boot partition. This means that
# all kernel and initrd paths are relative to /boot/, eg.

# initrd /initrd-version.img
#boot=/dev/hda

timeout=10
splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz
