I don't know for sure, but I did a "locate Monitor" and found a likely
suspect among the list, to wit:

/usr/share/hwdata/MonitorsDB

Note: this is a RH 9 system, but I doubt that much has changed.
/usr/share/hwdata/CardMonitorCombos may also be interesting.
