Equivalent commands

Is there an equivalent command in Linux for the Unix "tip" command? I am trying to connect to a KVM switch through a serial port and I am not sure what Linux command is to access this port. In Unix I would run tip -(baud rate [9600]) -(port[ttya]. Does any know the equivalent Linux command?
