RE: mplayer



hi there thanx for ur response.i am on this link thorugh the mplayer website u gave me
ftp://ftp.falsehope.com/home/rathann/mplayer.html
but here under what to download..is
common,gui and skin default.....r these three enough...if not i guess there is a codec file which also needs to be installed,but the site doesnät mention it!!cud u help me with exact process

where did you get it from?
I would download all the necessary rpms from
shrike.freshrpms.net (for RH9) or
yarrow.freshrpms.net (for Fedora Core 1)

the Mplayer rpms have circular dependencies -you need to specify them all on 
the command line at the same time:
eg
rpm -Uvh mplayer-1.0.0pre2.i386.rpm mplayer-codecs-1.0.0pre2.i386.rpm 
mplayer-common...
etc etc.
