dependencies making this a long winded task.
That means, of course, that you will have to download and build and
install all those (that you want) from scratch.

I think Rick Stevens will tell you that's the prefered way to do it anyway.
Sounds like something of a pita.
BTW, I've forgotten the original purpose. Why do you want to replace
Apache 2 with Apache 1.3? Just curious.
First because it appears to me that 1.3 is more popular than 2; second
because I want to install mod_perl and most of the documentation appears to
be for 1.3 rather than 2. In any case it looks to me like it may be quicker
for me to see of a complete OS reinstall using the custom config will be a
better way for me to proceed.
What do you think?
