But my point is that if you back up, at a minimum /home and /etc that
after a crash, and after you reinstall Linux and your apps, you will not
have a long delay getting your machine working again.
Whether you use Linux or XP is your choice. Either way the disk drive
can dies and you're faced with the same problems. Yes, XP is truly
easier to install. It has to be after so many people have done it so
many times. Sometimes I think it optimized for installation! ;-)
