How to determine update kernel if success?

Look in /boot - is the new kernel there? Also run "uname -a" and see if
you are running the new kernel. If you are, and everything is working then
the update was OK. (Each kernel has its own set of modules - hence the
extra directories in /lib/modules - this is normal).
