Evolution attachment file associations - how?

Embarrassingly, I realized that although I changed the system file
associations under Preferences/FileTypes and programs to point to the
new Openoffice version, they were not picked up by Evolution until I
restarted it.  Now they work as intended.  Thanks for listening.
