performance ftp

Hi,
I've got a strange problem with the ftp performance on
my RHEL3 server. From my laptop to this server the
speeed is OK. But from the linux server to a backup
server the speed is very slow. But again: the speed
from the backup server to the linux server is OK. And
I don't think that the router is responsible.
